Principal's Message

Dear Parents/Guardians,

On behalf of the faculty and staff of Keith Middle-High, I am happy to welcome you and your child to the 2020-2021 school year (from 6-feet away, of course). I recognize the circumstances that surround this school year is not what we expected nor hoped for, but with your help, we will ensure your child’s success.

This school term presents a beginning like no other. Yet, we are committed to making this school term the best ever. The school Motto is “Keeping High Standards in Preparing for a Productive Tomorrow.” The focus at Keith Middle-High is seen through the lens of Keith’s Mission Statement “To provide a solid educational foundation empowering and challenging our students to become lifelong learners with the ability to meet their maximum potential and to develop responsible citizens who are prepared to succeed in an ever-changing society.” Although things look a little bit different now, just know that Keith’s Vision remains the same. “To serve as a pillar of the community that helps empower and mold students to become productive citizens for the future.”

The teachers and I are committed to providing the strongest support possible for your student(s). We are dedicated to engaging your student(s) in-person or online, providing the most academically challenging learning experience possible. Keith’s Bear Pride would have it no other way. This year more than ever, as Principal, I realize the need for a strong relationship with parents, guardians, and the community. The faculty and I greatly appreciate the support you will provide as we navigate our “new normal.” To that end, Keith teachers and I ask that you guide and support your student’s learning by ensuring that he/she:

  1. Attends their scheduled meetings with teachers (virtually or in-person when permitted) on their scheduled days
  2. Properly cares for his/her technology device.
  3. Completes and turns in all assignments on time
  4. Consistently communicates with their teachers
  5. Shares school experiences with you so you are aware of his/her progress
  6. Informs you if he/she needs additional support in any area or subject
  7. Knows that you expect him/her to succeed in school

Indeed, it does take a village to educate a child. I hold on to that conviction as strongly as I do the belief that all students can learn. My hope is that all Keith students will LOVE school and realize that Keith provides a nurturing, learning environment that is positive, safe, warm, and caring. During this atypical school, term remember, it is still “A Great Day to Be a Bear; A Great Year to Be a Bear!” To all of my fellow Bears, let’s make it a great year! Please stay safe.
